So as always promised, I wanna talk about my favorite shows right now. I am partial to horror, mystery and crime shows but I try to be well rounded. I also enjoy comedy and even sometimes romantic ones, but lets not get ahead of ourselves

I am gonna narrow down my Top 8 shows (in no particular order) for fall and sorry they aren't all on Netflix but some of them are!

Spoiler alert: Homeland did not make the Fall cut this year. 2 episodes in and I gave up, sorry Claire Danes. Here are my favs....

1. American Horror Story: Hotel (FX)

This show is in it's 5th season (all 4 are on Netflix)! The plot centers around the enigmatic Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles, California, that catches the eye of an intrepid homicide detective (Bentley). The Cortez is host to the strange and bizarre, spearheaded by its owner, The Countess (Gaga), who is a bloodsucking fashionista. This season features two murderous threats in the form of The Ten Commandments Killer, a serial offender that justifies his actions in accordance with biblical teachings; and The Addiction Demon.

2. Criminal Minds

This show is in it's 11th season (all 10 are on Netflix) and I haven't fully caught on so don't tell me everything! An elite squad of FBI profilers analyzes the country's most-twisted criminal minds, anticipating the perpetrators' next moves before they can strike again. Each member of the "mind hunter" team brings his or her expertise to pinpoint predators' motivations and identify emotional triggers. This show will keep you up for days, I am obsessed.

3. New Girl (FOX)

After going through a rough breakup, awkward and upbeat Jess (Zooey Deschanel) moves in with three single guys. This show is honestly such a feel good show, I am always laughing out loud by myself in my room when I watch. I recommend to everyone. It is on Netflix as well!

4. How To Get Away With Murder (ABC)

Annalise Keating (Oscar-nominated,Tony-winning actress Viola Davis) is a brilliant, charismatic and seductive professor of defense law, who teaches a class called How to Get Away With Murder. Annalise, also a criminal defense attorney, selects a group of students -- the best and the brightest - o assist with cases at her firm alongside her employees, the trustworthy and discreet associate attorneys. Mysteries arise that test everyone's limits and reveal dark truths. This show is amazing and on Netflix. I got my boyfriend hooked with just a couple episodes. It is a must see for sure.

5. Scandal (ABC)

Olivia Pope, a former media consultant to the president, is ready to move on with her life and opens her own crisis-management firm, but she can't seem to shake ties with her past. Olivia's staff includes Quinn Perkins, who has a complicated history, and hacker extraordinaire Huck. As she moves forward it becomes clear that, while her staffers may specialize in cleaning up the lives of other people, they can't seem to do the same for themselves. Most of the seasons are on Netflix, this one will keep you entertained for hours. Plus Olivia Pope is #lifegoals.

6. The Affair (Showtime)

This showcases the emotional/psychological effects of two affairs. Young diner waitress Alison and her husband, rancher Cole, are struggling - personally and financially - in the wake of tragedy. Noah, a settled teacher and would-be novelist, is summering at his in-laws' Hamptons estate with his wife, Helen, and four kids. When Noah meets Alison, they begin an affair. This show is a never ending mystery.

7. The Leftovers (HBO)

In a global cataclysm, "The Sudden Departure," 140 million people disappeared without a trace. Three years later, residents of Mapleton, N.Y., try to maintain equilibrium when the notion of "normal" no longer applies. Intense grief has divided families and turned faith to cynicism, paranoia and madness, leading some of the traumatized to join the Guilty Remnant, a cultlike group. Kevin Garvey, a beleaguered police chief, must keep peace between townspeople and the cult, a task made tougher with concern about his kids. This show makes you think and gives you a surprise at every turn.

8. Scream Queens (FOX)

Okay, if you like Pretty Little Liars then you will love this show. The first season focuses on the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority at Wallace University, led by Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts), that is threatened by Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis); leading to events that reignite a 20-year old murder mystery, with the reemergence of the Red Devil serial killer, who begins targeting the sorority members. It is definitely a guilty pleasure but the language is hysterical. I'm embarassed that I love it.

Happy Fall!

Binge away!

Xoxo,

A Guy's Girl
