Baseball Bae of the Day: Buster Posey

Happy Sunday baseball lovers!

It's that time of the week we check out (literally) the hottest baseball honeys in the game. Last week we featured C.J. Wilson from the Angels, what a hunk and what a win today for the halos. Light that baby up!

Okay back to blogging, this week's featured baseball bae is 3 time World Series champion, San Francisco Giant's catcher, Buster Posey.

As always well start off with a little background about Buster. Posey, plays catcher and first baseman for the San Francisco Giants. He's 28 years old and he's approx 6'2. He bats and throws right-handed.

Posey grew up in Leesburg, Georgia. He played four sports in high school; when playing baseball, he excelled at hitting and pitching. He attended Florida State University, where he began playing the catcher position. He won the Golden Spikes Award in 2008 and was selected by the Giants with the fifth overall pick in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. Posey made his major league debut on September 11, 2009. After beginning the 2010 season in the minor leagues, he was called back up to the major leagues in May. He played first base when he came up, but became the Giants' regular catcher at the end of June. Gotta love a guy with multiple talents.

Some current news about Buster - On June 9, Posey caught rookie Chris Heston's no-hitter against the New York Mets at Citi Field, including the final out, a strikeout. It marks the seventeenth no-hitter in Giants franchise history.

On June 19, in a 9-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, Posey hit a grand slam and stole a base, becoming the first Giants catcher in 112 years since Roger Bresnahan to accomplish the feat. Four days later, in a 6-0 win over the San Diego Padres at AT&T Park, Posey hit his second grand slam in less than a week.

On July 5th, 2015 Buster Posey was selected to his 3rd career All-Star Game and was number one in voting for national league catchers. That was his second All-Star Game start (cause he's amazing, duh)

So we know he is amazing at baseball but what else do we love about this Bay Area hottie?!

Exhibit B: Buster is a dad. Like the cutiest dad ever. His family rips at every heart string you have.

Exhibit B: Buster's million dollar smile. Ugh can he not!!!!!!!!

Exhibit C: Not only is he a looker but he's like really silly. And his facial expressions make our lives whole again. Check out a press interview, he's been caught making silly faces at his kids.

So there you have it folks, looks like this Bay Area bae is an all around catch (er). Unfortunately since he's taken we can only awkwardly stare from far away but still. He gives us home for the future that maybe one day well date a professional baseball player that looks like him.

Ugh, until then well just go down a bottle of wine while Buster wins another World Series with his trophy wife and children.
