Baseball baes - your favorite series on the blog is at it again!

As it is always hard to narrow down our favorite baseball babes, I admit it I am bias to my Angels. Since I am a OC native they have been my favorite team - well, since birth. This series will cover players from EVERY team not just my Angels.

Last week, we featured the Angels ever so lovely, Mr. Mike Trout.

This week our baseball bae of the day is Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson.

OKAY. HOW FREAKING CUTE IS HE?!??!? Am I right or am I right girls?!

Here's a little background about this hunk. Christopher John "C. J." Wilson, he previously pitched for the Texas Rangers from 2005 to 2011 and is now a pitcher for the Angels. After attending Fountain Valley High School (how cool is that?!) Wilson played at Santa Ana College where in 2000 he was named the MVP of the Orange Empire Conference, and awarded the California Junior College Co-Player of the Year award.

C.J Wilson played outfield, first base, starting pitcher, and relief pitcher at Loyola Marymount University during the 2001 season. Wilson was drafted by the Rangers in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2001 MLB Draft.

C.J. is always a fun player to watch with extreme talent and charisma. One of the things that stands out the most for me when watching him play is his sportmanship. Usually, when you see a pitcher not having a great game you can see them get visibly agitated - maybe even start to cuss and throw a thing or two around. Not C.J. he has a career attitude.

Another thing we love about C.J. is his inpeccable style. This guy has some serious swag - on and off the field. He has been featured in GQ and Men's Health magazine.

Back to his sportmanship - this guy is a team player and it shows.

Could he be any cutier 2.0?

On a personal note, some things you may not know about this cutie - Wilson is a devoted Taoist (converted from Christianity) and adheres to a Straight Edge way of life (abstaining from animal products, alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, and promiscuous sex in order to maintain health.

As a sign of his choice of being Straight Edge, Wilson has the words "Straight Edge" tattooed along the length of his torso, Japanese characters on his shoulder that read "Poison Free" and "XXX" stitched on his blue glove as a straight edge symbol. The blue glove is itself unusual among baseball players (who generally wear a traditional brown-colored glove). Wilson wore the blue glove when the Rangers wore their blue uniforms (or their road grey uniforms); he also had a similarly-decorated red glove when pitching in games where the Rangers wore red uniforms. Wilson currently wears a red glove for the Angels.

A man with views and dedication - something all of us women can respect!

So keep being you C.J., we are all about it.

Xoxo,

A Guy's Girl
