The Life Of A Band Aid

Music is my life.
No literally it is my life. Ever since I could remember I have always loved music and I was never partial to any kind. From classic rock, to Frank Sinatra, acoustic to hip-hop to reggae, I truly loved it all.
As I got older all my friends would listen to Pop and Rap as it was the "cool" music to listen to. Yeah, it had fun catchy beats but I've always been more interested in the lyrics of a song and developing a personal connection with the artist and the song than strictly jamming to the beat. I loved every part of becoming one with the music I was listening to.
My first concert I ever saw was Dixie Chicks, in 1999. I was 7. My mom, dad, and sister and I sat in the 4th row and I was absolutely mesmerized. Even though, it's hard to physically remember being 7 years old, I can remember every single song they sang. Not to forget the roar of the crowd, I had never felt more alive or more at home in my life.
I would go on to see many concerts after that ranging from rock shows like Def Leppard, Styxx, Metallica, Van Halen, Poison and Cheap Trick. To going to festivals like Stagecoach and seeing country concerts with the best names in the game such as Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Eli Young Band, Chris Young, Rascal Flatts, Hunter Hayes, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Lady Antellebum and so on.
For my young peers, concerts have always been about going to get trashed with their friends and having some loud music olaying as background noise. Like they really could careless about the music. For me, I never needed a sip of alcohol to have fun at a concert. Just being in the atmosphere, listening to the band sets, belting every word, and having sick seats was enough for me.
It's also fun making new friends at these events because you never know who has backstage passes. I've gotten backstage multiple times from new friends I've made. It's awesome.
But I don't think it was until I was 13 and saw the movie 'Almost Famous' until I truly understood why I loved music so much. Kate Hudson plays Penny Laine who most assume is just another "groupie" for the rock band Stillwater in the 60s. But truly she's just a fan is there for the music (the rockstars are just bonus points!)

She had this spirit about her that was undeniable. I felt almost as if she was my alter-ego for years. Especially with that curly hair and all, haha. I suddenly knew it wasn't weird to love a silly piece of music of much.

I could name at least 30 songs that have the ability to take me to a place that nothing else can. Music doesn't just open your mind but it lifts your soul.
So why do I go to so many concerts/shows you may ask? What even is a Band-aid?
A Band-Aid is a music junkie that loves the lyrics, the atmosphere so much that it almost hurts to be away from it. That's exactly why I'd choose going to see live music over any DJ in the club nowadays.

The answer is EVERYTHING.
That is me during a concert. vv

If you haven't seen Almost Famous, I highly suggest you do so. It is my favorite movie of all time!!!
To end I want to leave you with my Top 5 vocalists I've seen live, these are the artists thar didn't dress up in sexy outfits or dance but simply just sat on the stage and sang to us with their majestic angelic voices.
