Alone. At. Last.
*Takes deep breath*
*Exhales*
I'm sure I know what you're all thinking right now, who wants to be alone?! No one would choose to be alone, would they?
Before we get into all that jazz, lets define what being "alone" really is. This post is not talking about being single or being in a relationship it is simply just talking about your time spent by just yourself and no one else. Those times spent alone are the times you can really sit back, relax, think and do some self reflecting. All things we need to do to keep the mind healthy.
Before I got to college, I really didn't know how happy I would be to spend time alone. Sometimes when I am really stressed or just in a mood, I don't want to go out and have a drink I just simply want to catch a sunset and write (everyones way of relaxation is different) but for me usually it starts with being alone.

One of the biggest things we have to do growing up is finding our strengths in weaknesses in all parts of our life. It's really easy to figure out if your good at math or enlgish but it's alot harder to figure out how to decompress through tough situations in your life. Many young adults tend to reach for the wrong things in times of stress such as alcohol, drugs, bad boys/girls, etc. I am not saying any of those things aren't fun but they're just not things that will help you deal with your problems in the long run.
There is also such a stigma about "being alone" like it's such a bad thing. Some people are perfectly content with being alone and some are perfectly happy in a relationship. I feel like whatever works for you is awesome and you should stikc with it. But if you are too tied to one then maybe take some time for yourself to be alone.
Being alone gives you so much time to reflect on your goals, things you want to accomplish and how you can be better without the distraction or temptation of anyone else around you. It gives you a chance to catch up with yourself which is necessary sometimes depending on how busy you may be.
It also is a time of relaxation, I shared how I like to relax but how do you like to? Maybe go treat yourself to a pedicure, massage or a bottle of wine. Whatever you fancy :)
So this week I challenge you to reward yourself with some alone time and see what you find out about yourself.
Xoxo,
A Guy's Girl
