Why You Should Be Writing More

Today, receiving a handwritten note from someone is almost like getting a photo with Britney Spears.

It's rarely to ever happen.

Ever since I was little, I always loved to write. I also loved to buy school supplies for a new year (weird as heck I know). There was something about opening fresh, new notebooks and filling them up that I loved. To this day I still find great joy in school supply shopping. LOL.

But as I've gotten older, I've seen how much school supplies and writing is really dying. I mean in my college classes at USC we barely write anything down extempt if we are taking tests. We take notes on our laptops and send in our assignments via email to our professors.

Why is that? Because life has gone digital. We can do everything on our iPhones and laptops. We no longer need to write things down. From our grocery shopping lists to taking notes in class they can all be done digitally.

Even though we can do all things digitally now, I still find great importance in writing things down. The best way I study is to write things down because it helps resignate in my brain and I can remember them. Call me old fashioned but that's what works for me!

Another important reason to continue writing things down is because if you don't use it then you lose it. You always want to be an proficient writer, it's important in any career you chose. So you should always practice and keep challenging you brain. I'm not saying you should be writing essays but definitely a couple paragraphs here and there! You'll be happy you did.

The last reason you should continue writing things down is because of memories. Since everyone with an iPhone has the potential to be a photographer and take unlimited amounts of photos. But those photos don't have words to describe how you were feeling when you captured that moment. When you look back on your life, you are gonna wish you did.

So go out there buy a cute journal and start writing! You'll be happy you did.
